Knowledge Source setup: Sharepoint

In order to use a Sharepoint site as a document source, the Knowledge Source should have:

• Source type: Sharepoint
• Source URL: URL of the Sharepoint site, e.g https://ideaport.sharepoint.com/sites/GenAI/Example

Supported formats

Site pages

Site pages (.aspx) files are stored in the Pages section.

Pdf

PDF files (.pdf) are stored in the Documents section.

Video

Video files in the Documents section.

Syncable file formats: .mp4

For video files, their description is used as content for document/s in the vector store. So, in order for a video file to be embedded into a vector store, it needs to have its transcript in the custom “Video Description“ column.

Knowledge Source sync with Sharepoint

Knowledge Source sync with a Sharepoint site as a source:

1. Reads all supported files from the Sharepoint site
2. Based on file ID and modify date detects which files to keep, to update and to delete from Knowledge Source
3. Deletes documents for updated/deleted files
4. Creates documents for updated/new files
5. Sets last synced date on Knowledge Source
